mama, you are not a bad mom.

People say you should enjoy this phase of life. Soak up every moment. The truth? Not every moment is enjoyable! Whether you have a new baby, or older kids, motherhood can be exhausting and overwhelming. You're done with feeling bad. You want to feel like yourself again.

Your relationship might be feeling bland. The two of you used to have these amazing, long conversations about things that matter. And now it feels like all you do is stare at your separate screens and fight about who is going to wash the dishes. You feel distant and alone. You want that security and connection back.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING IMPORTANT: It doesn’t have to be this way.

You can be a confident, calm mom. You can have the relationship you’ve always dreamed of. I can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only see moms?

Not at all! If you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed, I can help you with that, regardless of your gender or parenting status.

Do you have evening appointments?

In order to attempt to maintain my own work-life balance (to the extent that such a thing exists), I work only during “regular business hours.” If you need evening or weekend appointments, I am happy to provide you withe the names of some other therapists I know and trust.

Is counselling covered by my benefits?

Social work services are covered by many extended health plans. It’s important to check with your company’s plan to find out what is covered. You can also save your receipts and claim your appointments as a health expense on your tax return.

What about men?

It’s surprisingly common for men to have a hard time adjusting to parenthood too, not just moms. Many men feel guilty about leaving the house all day for work while their wives are home alone with a new baby. What most men want to know is this: will I just take the woman’s side all the time. Nope! You’re both important in this equation. I’ll help you better understand yourself and your partner so that having a baby doesn’t have to ruin your relationship!

How long will I have to come to counselling?

The truth is, I have no idea! Some people find they need to come in and chat once or twice and then they feel better. Some people get going and then realize they have a lot of stuff they want to work on. I ask couples to commit to three months of doing some fairly hard work if they want to see improvement in their relationship.
