HIT THE HAY

Today is all about rest. I’ll wait while you stop laughing. I know what you’re thinking - “Yeah, right. Like I have time to rest.” This isn’t about taking a nap in the middle of the day. Although, if the opportunity presents itself, by all means, do it! This is about what you do once you’re in bed.

Treat yourself like you would one of your overtired littles, and put yourself to bed early. As you lay in bed, take note of your environment. No judgement allowed; just notice. Notice how your body feels as it rests against your mattress. How do the sheets feel against your skin? Pay attention to the little sounds around you, the waning light, the smell of your room. Are you alone in your bed? Stretch out and enjoy the glorious solitude of your bed! Have someone in there already? Snuggle up and feel the warmth of your bed-mate. Notice the sounds and smells around you. Breathe deep and give yourself permission to drift off without allowing your worries to take up space in your mind.

Zzzzzz……

If your worries are keeping you up at night, it might be time to take action. Schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation to find out more about how therapy can help you.
