Meet Rachel

Rachel is a Registered Social Worker. She loves helping people learn how the past informs their present so that they can experience greater awareness and personal growth.

Rachel says:

Everyone has moments of self doubt. It’s universal and a natural survival instinct, that creeps in to try and protect us from the unknown. But when anxiety and critical thoughts start taking up more of our mind’s landscape, it can make it harder to live the way we want to.

I work from a strength-based, and trauma informed perspective. This means that in our work together, I help you uncover positive things about you that have been there all along. We also keep in mind that hard things happen to all of us, and so we’ll ensure that therapy feels safe for you as we go about our work.

I integrate various therapeutic approaches depending on the unique needs of the individual. Some of the areas I work with most with are anxiety (including generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder), depression, low self-esteem, attention deficit hyperactive disorder and healthy vs. unhealthy boundary communication.

I am a registered social worker (2012), with a Master’s of Social Work Degree (Kings University College, University of Western Ontario). I am passionate about helping others, and continually update my knowledge and skill set to provide relevant and effective services.

I consider it an honour when people invite me to be a part of their journey, and strongly believe in the importance of a positive therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect, honesty, and authenticity. It is my hope that together we can begin exploring new ways of interacting with your inner critic to help ‘tame’ it’s hold on you.

Believing in yourself isn’t always easy. But when we become more clear about what’s holding us back, we often discover new possibilities and it becomes easier to take steps towards desired change.
